Be Your Best by Mastering Your Strengths and Managing Your Weaknesses

7 Tips to help guide you as you reach goals using your talents

You might already be thinking about the New Year and what you hope to accomplish. It is this time of the year when I review my goals from last year and work on the goals for the upcoming year.

In recent years, I have centered my goals on my strengths and learning to manage my weaknesses. My overall goal is always to be a better version of myself than I was last year and that includes mastering my strengths.

You must first know your talents. We are all born with natural, God-given talents.

What are your talents?

I review my top 10 talents on a regular basis. I reference them as I contemplate solving problems, reaching goals and when I am coaching clients. Communications is in my top 10 and I live in that strength daily. I also have learner and input in my top 10, so I am always reading, studying, and researching topics for own company and career and for my clients.

Just as is important it is to know your talents, you need to know your weaknesses, what you are NOT good at doing. To truly succeed, it is important to stay in your lane. There is often tension in workplaces because people weave in and out of their own lanes and tend to crash with co-workers.

So, know your talents.

If you want to be your best, learn to master your talents, and manage your weaknesses.
